There's a Beauty in Fierceness

There's a Beauty in Fierceness

There’s a beauty in fierceness

In the confidence one holds

When their world has crashed before them but there they stand so bold

There’s a beauty in fierceness

The way one’s eyes will glow, like fire reflected in the dark by a feral creature in the cold

They way they hold their body, strong and regal like a cat

Ready to strike each moment against a possible attack

But there’s a sadness wrapped within it

Within that bold parade

Because once you hold it, you realize it was merely a way to be safe

The stance holds the heartache in a safe and protective pouch

But no matter how bold and fearless, there’s still that little ouch

The heartache that made you bristle and you're eyes to brightly glow

With the fire burning inside you from the pain that you try to swallow

It will not go away, no matter what you do

Not until you face it... boldly... or afraid.

I only hope you see it, before the fierceness wears you down

Before you hold your anger bejeweled like a crown

I hope you can face it softly, like a cold and injured cat

Opening your defenses to scoop it in your jacket

To let it burrow softly, beside your beating heart

And maybe find some comfort before it must depart

I hope you give it mercy, for its never found much love

The heartache and the anger, and all of the above

So please greet it gently, for it can only speak the truth

That broken little piece, was once a part of you
