The Rosetta Stone platform we offer through the library will be upgraded. With the change in platform, your user profile will be reset, and you will need to re-register to the program using the same website and log in method as before.

Please record your last activity (instructions below) prior to the last few weeks of October. You will be able to navigate back to your last activity once you have re-registered for a new license.

Where did I leave off?

You will find your Unit at the top left (in this case UNIT 1). Below that will be your Lesson (in this case Lesson 2). Your Activity will be just below the Lesson number.

Once you have registered for a new account, here is where you can access all the content and navigate back to your original activity. Click on Explore All Content:

From here you can navigate to all the available content.

If you click “See all”, you will see the full contents of all Levels. Each Level has 4 Units.

Using Rosetta Stone on a Computer

You can learn a new language with Rosetta Stone on the internet browser of your computer, laptop. Recommended browsers to use are the most up to date versions of Chrome or Firefox, or Safari.

Signing in and creating an account

Step 1

Click the following link to sign in to Rosetta Stone with your library card barcode and PIN code: Visit Rosetta Stone.

You can also find the sign in link on the View All Online Resources by Subject and A to Z pages.

(If you are on a library computer you will be taken directly to the Rosetta Stone sign in page, described in Step 2.)

Step 2

On the Rosetta Stone sign in page, enter an email address, create a password to be used for Rosetta Stone, select the language you wish to learn, then click Sign In. This account is used for helping you to keep track of your progress.

Step 3

Click Launch Rosetta Stone Foundations from the Rosetta Stone Language Learning Suite page. This page provides information on technical support, computer requirements, and reports to track your progress for all of the languages you are learning.

Step 4

Select a course for your chosen language, there are several to choose from with different duration times, and can focus on either reading and writing, or listening and speaking. Click Apply Changes to begin your course.

 

Changing your course within a language lesson

Click on the gear-wheel icon in the top right corner of the main screen of Rosetta.

A Settings window will open. Select Course from the options listed.

Then select the Change your course settings found next to the Your Course heading

Lastly, select the course you want and Apply Changes.

 

Changing a language

You can learn more than one language from Rosetta Stone.

Once you have selected a language to learn, you cannot switch between languages in the middle of a session.

To learn a different language, return to the language selection/sign in screen by clicking on the Visit Rosetta Stone link posted at the top of this page, or through the links on the View All Online Resources by Subject and A to Z pages.  

 

Using the Rosetta Stone App on a Smartphone or Tablet

You can learn a new language with the Rosetta Stone App on your smartphone or tablet, but you need visit Rosetta Stone on the browser of your mobile device first!

The Rosetta Stone App is used for both paying customers and for organizations with a subscription, such as libraries. Signing in directly on the Rosetta Stone app is not available for library patrons.  

You will need to sign-in through the library provided Rosetta Stone links on the browser of your mobile device, so that you will be recognized as a library patron. 

How to get library-provided access on the app

Step 1

Download the free Rosetta Stone: Learn Languages app for either iOS or Android from their respective App Stores. The app is available for Android version 5 and newer, and for iOS version 11 and newer.

Step 2

Wait! Don’t launch the app after it is installed – Instead, go to the internet browser on your mobile device. Go to the following link and sign in with your library card barcode and PIN code: Visit Rosetta Stone.

Step 3

On the Rosetta Stone sign in page, enter your email, a password created for use with Rosetta Stone, select the language you want to learn and tap Sign In.

Step 4

On the next screen, tap Launch Rosetta Stone Foundations.

Step 5

Wait for the Rosetta Stone: Learn Languages app to open and automatically launch your language learning course.

Are you seeing a sign in screen instead of your course?

  • Tap Log In.
  • For What type of account do you have? Tap Work and School
  • For Username, enter your email address. Tap NEXT.
  • For Password, enter the password you have created. Tap NEXT.
  • For Workspace (or Namespace), enter s8480496. Tap NEXT.

Your language learning course should now open.

Continuing with your lesson for another day?

You will need to sign in through the Visit Rosetta Stone links posted above, or on the View All Online Resources by Subject and A to Z pages.
