At ORL Makerspaces, you will find equipment and tools for hands-on projects, digital media creation, and exploring and learning new technology. We offer an open workspace and knowledgeable library staff to support your projects.
Makerspaces are located at downtown Kelowna, Golden, Lumby, Revelstoke, Vernon, & Westside Learning Lab branches. Equipment must be booked in advance. Connect with the library branch for their Makerspace open hours.

Only certified patrons are able to book the Cricut Maker and 3D Printer. Want to get certified? Complete an online certification course!
After an orientation with our staff, you can print a three-dimensional objects using our 3D Printer.

Use our Cricut Maker, a high tech and precise cutting, drawing, and scoring machine. It cuts hundreds of materials quickly and accurately, from the most delicate paper and fabric to matboard and leather — and supports almost any DIY project.

The Heat Press can be used to transfer iron-on vinyl designs to fabric. The Heat Press can also be used for Sublimation printing. Your printed designs can be transferred to polyester fabric, coffee mugs, etc., using the Heat Press.

The vinyl cutter can be used to cut out vinyl designs that can be used for wall murals or for iron-on vinyl transfer designs that you have created to for a T-Shirt.

The Sublimation Printer is used for creating designs that can be transferred onto various objects (coffee cups, coasters, t-shirts, etc.)

Go to Spaces, our online booking calendar, to browse and reserve our maker stations and tools. You will be asked to create a Spaces account (and confirm your email address) in order to complete your first booking request.
Maker stations can be booked online two days in advance. For next day or same day bookings, please phone the library to ask if there are openings.
Online reservation is available for maker stations at the Westside Learning Lab, the Downtown Kelowna, Vernon, and Lumby branches. Please contact Golden Branch to book their maker stations in person.
