About Okanagan Regional Library

Located in beautiful British Columbia, ORL stretches from the Rocky Mountains through the wine and fruit producing lands of the Okanagan Valley to the South Okanagan and west through the Similkameen. It is a vibrant library system, with 30 branches, serving 26 diverse communities, over 300 employees, and a service population of over 400,000 people.

The Opportunity

Embark on a fulfilling journey with Okanagan Regional Library (ORL) as a Library Assistant Supervisor and make a meaningful impact in the community!

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the incumbent will:

  • Assist with planning, organizing, scheduling, and supervising circulation activities to ensure customers receive efficient and timely service.

  • The incumbent assists the Supervisor in the application of library policies and procedures concerning the circulation of library materials and also assists in the training of a team of Assistant Community Librarian staff.

  • Provide leadership including evaluation, guidance, scheduling and training to Library Pages

  • Assumes the role of Branch Services Supervisor when required.

The incumbent exercises some independent judgement and action within established library policies, procedures and practices.

Qualifications will include:

  • Supervisory course from an accredited Library Technician Program or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) year (full time equivalent) library circulation experience.

Pay Rate: $29.89 to $31.42 per hour
