It is the 16th largest library system in Canada, with 29 branches, over 250 employees, and a service population of over 370,000 people
The ORL Branch II Librarian is in a leadership role responsible for the effective administration and management of our Kelowna Branch Library within the context of sound library principles and regional policies. The branch Head Librarian applies professional library skills and techniques in the management of the branch acting under the direction of the Director of Public Services. Under the general direction of the Director of Public Services, the Branch Head provides leadership, advocacy, administrative support, supervision and professional librarian perspective to a major branch library and will function as a senior advisor to the Director of Public Services. Responsibilities include the planning and implementation of a library advocacy program to promote the ORL and their own branch within the service community, to ensure the effective delivery of library service to the public.
