International Literacy Day Celebrations September 11, 2010
Join us at the 5th Annual International Literacy Day Celebrations at the Kelowna Branch on Ellis Street, hosted with Project Literacy Kelowna. There will be children's storytimes read by celebrity readers including puppeteer Judi Garner-Niehaus, magician Ali K. Zam, and CHBC's own Mike Roberts. The day will also feature prize giveaways, a treasure hunt, a Friends of the Library Book Sale, a Scrabble Challenge with champ Jesse Matthews, a Central Okanagan Writers Society gathering, and more. At 1 PM, popular Canadian author Gail Anderson-Dargatz will read from her new novel "The Stalker". It’s all free fun and learning for the whole family from 10 AM – 2 PM.
