Programs for Babies and Preschoolers

Our Fall storytime has begun!!


Storytimes are held 10-10:30am from September 4 - December 11.

Enjoy fun with your preschooler ~ Get ready to read with stories, rhymes, songs and fingerplays for toddlers and preschoolers 18 months - 5 years, their parents and caregivers


Babytime will resume on Tuesday, October 14.   Babytimes will be from 10:15am-10:45am.  Join Catherine for songs, rhymes and stories.  Parents/caregivers are required to participate with their child.   

All babytime and storytime programs are drop-in and FREE!

Canning & Preserving Basics - with Ginny Dournovo

Attend this one hour free presentation led by Ginny Dournovo to learn the tips, tricks and information to preserve the great fruits and vegetables of the Okanagan.   Ginny Dournovo, is a long-time gardener, former Home Ec teacher and a life long resident on the Westside.

Drop-in Health Clinic

The Westside Health Network, in partnership with the UBC Medical Program and support from the Central Okanagan Foundation, is offering free blood pressure and hearing testing along with an information session regarding the new Walk 'n Talk for your Life Program.

Author visit - Frank Busch  - "Grey Eyes" on September 29, 2014

Frank Busch, author of Grey Eyes will be at the branch at 6:30pm Monday, September 29 for an author reading.

Grey Eyes: a Novel

And the River Still Sings goes beyond the tales with which we are so familiar, exploring both the experiences that led Chris to a solitary lifestyle and her transition to a life closer to the grid.

for classes to be held in the fall.

Meeting Room

Westbank branch has a meeting room available for rent. With a theatre style set-up, the room has a seating capacity of 20-25. The room is available on open days and rents for $40.00 for the first 2 hours and $10.00 per hour for each additional hour.  Bookings are not confirmed until the rental fee has been paid.

Friends of the Library

The Westbank Friends of the Library, formed in February 2001, actively support the work of the library and its staff.   The monies raised from their book sales are used to buy non-budget items and to sponsor various programs and events that take place in the library. The Friends also organize the popular Wednesday Evening  Speakers Programs that take place in the library once a month during the winter/spring months.
