The Revelstoke Branch is located in the Community Centre on Campbell Avenue. 

When the library is closed there is a book drop bin located outside the main entrance of the building.

Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: CLOSED
All branches closed on statutory holidays

Free parking is available in the Community Centre parking lot on the south side of the building.

Please join us as celebrate winter with stories, songs, and fun.  All programs are free but space is limited.

 

 

 

Become a Summer Reading Club member simply by coming into the library to get a reading log and sign up for any or all of the following free Summer Reading Club programs.  Enter to win weekly book prizes everytime you come into the library! Members are also eligible to enter to win a t-shirt and an original painting by David Rooney. 

School-aged kids will earn a medal when they complete their reading log and are welcome to all of the following programs.

Pre-school-aged kids can keep a "read-to-me" log and are welcome to the programs on July 16 and 23rd, as well as the performance and party on August 13th.  Also see our Summertime Pajama Storytimes below...

"Something Funny's Going On..."  Hands on science activities exploring the strange world of the everyday...

July 16 10:30 - 11:30 AM

"Funny Business"  Professional magician Leif David will be here with an all new show!

July 23 2:00 - 3:00 PM

"Laugh Olympics"  Hilarious cooperative games! Nonstop action and fun!

July 30 2:00 - 3:00 PM

"Time for Slime"  Make and play with homemade slime! Disgusting and fun!

August 6 and 13 2:00 - 4:00 PM

"The Wacky World of Roald Dahl"  Try out your acting skills with drama teacher Anita Hallewas.  Create an original play based on the hilarious works of Roald Dahl!

August 13 6:00 PM

"Party and Performance Night"  Performance of the play; Medal ceremony for reading club members; Volunteer appreciation party

 


 

Ongoing Children's Programs

 

Summertime Pajama Storytimes  **new

All ages are welcome and no registration is required.  Kids should wear their pj's and bring along a blanket and any other favorite bedtime things!

For: Children of all ages. Please accompany children under 4 years of age.

Dates: Tuesday, July 22 at 6:30 to 7:15 PM

             Tuesday, August 12 at 6:30 to 7:15 PM

 

Multicultural Storytelling Saturdays

Each monthly program features stories, activities and crafts from a different culture.

No registration is necessary for this free program.

For: Children of all ages. Children under 4 years of age should be accompanied by a caregiver.

Dates: The 3rd Saturday of every month starting September 20, 2014

 

Lego Club

Have fun creating fantastic creatures and structures according to the monthly theme! Use the library's huge Lego collection and your creation will be displayed in the library.  Enter your name each time you attend the club and you might win a prize!

No registration is necessary for this free program.

For: Children aged 6ish and older (younger children are welcome with a caregiver)

Dates: The 4th Saturday of every month starting September 27, 2014 to May 23, 2015

 

Family Craft Day

We provide the materials and instructions - you do the creating!  Create a craft or piece of art to take home. 

No registration is necessary for this free program.

For: Children of all ages. Children under 4 years of age should be accompanied by a caregiver.

Dates: The 1st Saturday of every month starting September 6, 2014 to May 2, 2015

 

Family Storytimes

Stories, songs, puppets and other fun activites for children of all ages.  

Registration by phone or in person after August 1st is required for this free program.

For: Children of all ages. Children under 4 years of age should be accompanied by a caregiver.

Dates:  Every Thursday from 1:15 to 2:00 PM

              Every Friday from 10:15 to 11:00 AM

We would love to come to your class for a visit or have your class come to the library for a tour and a storytime!  Please give us a call at 250-837-5095 for more information and to set up a time. 

 


 

Adult Programs & Events

 

Common Threads with Natalie Lebel

Do you knit, crochet, cross-stitch, needlepoint or latch-hook?  Whether you are experienced or just beginning to learn, come and join the fun (with tea provided) as we learn together!  Participants are asked to bring their own supplies.

This is a free program with no registration required.

For:  For all ages and and all levels of experience

Dates: Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday starting September 23, 2014 to April 28, 2015

 

Bookclub

Our bookclub is currently full, but please feel free to leave your name with us and a second bookclub will be considered!

Current Displays by Local Artists

We are very proud to be displaying works by local artists Sue Davies and Peter Blackmore. We are also the #1 location on the Revelstoke Art Walk 2014.

We also have a fabulous History of Racism in Revelstoke display consisting of six compelling panels by Laura Stovel.

Please contact us if you are a local artist who would like to temporarily display your artwork; we welcome students of art as well.

Exam Invigilation

We provide free proctoring services in the library during any of our open hours.  We have free and unlimited wifi accessibility for your online exams if you have your own device/laptop, or you are welcome to use our public computers if your online exam is less than 60 minutes. Contact Kendra to set up a time.

 


 

Internet Availability

We offer one hour per day of free internet access on our three computers for members of the library as well as non-members.  We also offer unlimited and free internet access for anyone with their own wireless device.

 


 

Meeting Room Availability

Please feel free to use our quiet meeting room for tutoring, studying, formal or informal gatherings when it is not being used for our own programs and events.  The room accommodates approximately 30 people and is available for booking ahead of time.  We have chairs and tables available for use as well.  Please call us at 250-837-5095 or come in for more details.
