During the summer, elementary school aged children can enjoy book-based activities and lots of good reading by joining the Library's Summer Reading Club.

The goals of the program are to:

  • Promote regular reading during the summer to help maintain reading skills
  • Develop a lifelong love of reading in children
  • Have fun

Many branches visit local schools in June to promote The Summer Reading Club. Your child may bring home information from their school about our program.

Each summer the club features a different theme and provides special programs, reading records, bookmarks, displays and prizes. All Summer Reading Club activities and events are free!

Registration at the library is required to participate in The Summer Reading Club. For more information please contact your local branch.

Please see our online calendar, or check our branch web pages for the dates and details of special programs offered as part of The Summer Reading Club.
